Location: NPS-17 is located on the Lummi Indian Reservation along the south end of the Seapond Aquaculture Facility dike.
Response Strategy: NPS-17 calls for 600 feet of deflection boom to be placed in a chevron arrangement on the seaward side of the Seapond Aquaculture Facility tide gates for the purpose of preventing oil from entering the Seapond.
Feet/Type of Boom: Contractor Boom – 600 feet.
Strategy Implementation: Boom was deployed and collected from the Seapond Aquaculture Facility dike. Under the given weather conditions and tide, the spill team found that 400 feet of boom was sufficient for NPS-15 (instead of 600 feet). However, it was noted that more boom wou
Staging Area: Gear was collected at the Tribal Administration Building (2665 Kwina Rd.) and boom was deployed and collected from the trailer at a staging area along the Seapond Aquaculture Facility dike.

Comments: Weather was clear and windless. Tide was approximately 6 feet and heading out.
